Kirsten Daru serves as our Chief Legal, Security and Privacy Officer, joining NETGEAR in May 2024. She is a seasoned legal generalist, with a deep expertise in privacy and cyber security having worked in the space for almost twenty years. After beginning her career as a commercial litigator, she spent over 11 years at Electronic Arts (EA) where she was appointed its first Chief Privacy Officer, working side-by-side with the cybersecurity team on building best-in-class security and privacy product features as well as best practices in compliance, incident response, GRC, cryptography and forensics operations. After EA, Kirsten served as the Chief Legal & Privacy Officer of Tile and when Tile and Life360 merged she was appointed General Counsel of Life360, where she continued her focus and expertise in building and implementing top legal teams as well as robust privacy and security operations and practices. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation as a strategic leader, focused on fostering a competitive marketplace where innovation can thrive. Kirsten has been nationally recognized as both a top attorney and business strategist, including as a recipient of the National Women in Law Award (Corporate Counsel, 2018), Data Privacy Hero Award (DataGrail 2024), as well as named amongst the Top 50 Corporate Counsel (OnCon Icon, 2025) and Top 30 Innovative GC’s Nationwide (PhotonLegal 2025). She earned a degree in Latin from the University of California at Davis before receiving her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
