More speed. More reach. More room.
Ready for multi-gig internet.
A 10 Gig internet port lets Orbi 870 make the most of multi-gig plans, while 2.5 Gig Ethernet on the router and every satellite gives consoles, PCs and wired backhaul a fast lane.
Strong performance across more space
Tri-band WiFi 7 with Multi-Link Operation helps the router and satellites work together as one system, extending consistent WiFi performance across up to 9,000 sq. ft.
Protection starts the moment you connect.
From setup, Advanced Router Protection helps defend your network against emerging threats, while WPA3 encryption helps protect your WiFi connections and automatic updates keep your protection current.
Capacity for a busier home
With room for up to 150 connected devices and a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, Orbi 870 keeps streaming, gaming, video calls and smart-home devices running together.
ORBI 870 · TRI-BAND WIFI 7
One system. Bigger homes.
For larger homes and heavier network use, Orbi 870 is the step up. It pairs tri-band WiFi 7 at up to 21 Gbps with a 10 Gig internet port and room for up to 150 devices, without stepping all the way up to the quad-band flagship.
Live in a larger home, up to 9,000 sq. ft., often across multiple floors
Have rooms, basements, or backyards your current WiFi can't reach
Run a heavy network - up to 150 devices streaming, gaming and on video calls at once
Have, or plan to get, a multi-gig internet plan that needs a 10 Gig port
Value easy setup and managing everything from an app
From $649.99
More happening at home demands more from your WiFi.
Walls and distance make one router work harder to reach the entire household. Orbi 870
uses a router and satellites working together over tri-band WiFi 7 to distribute high-
performance WiFi across more of your home.
One router + extender
One signal, copied farther
An extender relays your router’s WiFi signal, allowing it to travel farther from the source. That signal can lose strength as it travels, leaving slow spots or dead zones.
Strong near the router and extender, weaker at the edges
ORBI 870 MESH
One coordinated network
The Orbi router and satellites work together as one network, helping your devices stay connected as you move through your home.
Strong, even coverage in every room
Pick the size of your home, not the size of your network
Same system, two sizes. Extend your coverage at any time with an additional satellite.
Larger homes do best with the 3-pack. Need more reach later? Add an Orbi 870 satellite ($399.99) anytime - it joins the same network automatically, with no drop in performance.
*Coverage is a guide - real range varies with layout, walls, and construction.

Before you order
Orbi 870 is built for larger or multi-story homes. The 2-pack covers up to 6,000 sq. ft., while the 3-pack covers up to 9,000 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies based on your home's layout, walls and construction.
Both use tri-band WiFi 7. Orbi 770 reaches speeds up to 11 Gbps and is the recommended fit for most homes. Orbi 870 steps up to 21 Gbps, a 10 Gig internet port and room for up to 150 devices, for larger homes, multi-gig internet plans and heavier network use.
Orbi 870 uses WiFi 7 Multi-Link Operation (MLO) across its 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands to keep communication between the router and satellites fast, and every satellite has 2.5 Gig Ethernet for optional wired backhaul. A separate band used only for backhaul is exclusive to Orbi 970.
Choose the 2-pack for larger homes, with coverage up to 6,000 sq. ft. Choose the 3-pack for large or multi-story homes, with coverage up to 9,000 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies, and you can add a compatible Orbi 870 Series satellite later.
Yes. Tri-band WiFi 7 gives gaming, streaming and video calls room to run together, while 2.5 Gig Ethernet provides a fast wired option for a console or PC. Actual performance depends on your internet plan, device and network conditions.
Orbi 870 replaces your router, not the modem or gateway that connects your home to your internet service. It works with most providers when connected to compatible equipment, and the app guides you through setup.
The app guides you through connecting the router, placing each satellite and creating your network. Most households can complete setup in minutes without networking expertise.
No. Advanced Router Protection, WPA3 encryption and automatic updates are included from setup. Optional NETGEAR Armor™, powered by Bitdefender, extends protection across connected devices, privacy and personal data. A free trial is included, and a paid subscription is optional after the trial.
Yes. WiFi 7 is backward compatible, so devices using earlier WiFi generations can still connect. WiFi 7 devices can use the newest capabilities, while speed and performance vary by device.
