Everything Orbi can do, taken further
Quad-band performance at full scale
Patented quad-band WiFi 7 combines four wireless bands and 16 streams, creating the capacity to keep up to 200 connected devices performing at once.
A dedicated path for mesh traffic
Enhanced Dedicated Backhaul on the 5Ghz band creates a high-speed connection between the router and satellites, keeping mesh traffic from competing with the WiFi your devices use.
Built-in protection for your connected home
Advanced Router Protection helps defend against emerging threats, while WPA3 encryption helps protect your connections and automatic updates keep that protection current.
Lab-tested. Award-winning.
CNET named Orbi 970 the “Fastest Mesh Router” in its lab awards, recognition backed by more than 30 years of NETGEAR networking expertise.

router · 3-pack up to 10,000 sq ft
The largest homes need WiFi built to scale.
A single router’s signal weakens across long distances, walls and multiple floors. Orbi 970 uses a router
and satellites to extend high-performance WiFi across up to 10,000 sq. ft.
One router + extender
One signal, copied farther
An extender relays your router’s WiFi signal, allowing it to travel farther from the source. That signal can lose strength as it travels, leaving slow spots or dead zones.
Strong near the router and extender, weaker at the edges
ORBI MESH
One coordinated network
The Orbi router and satellites work together as one network, helping your devices stay connected as you move through your home.
Strong, even coverage in every room
Pick the size that fits your home
Same quad-band WiFi 7 system, three sizes. Expand anytime.
Black — only at NETGEAR.com
Need more reach? Add an Orbi 970 satellite ($799.99) anytime - it joins the same network automatically, with no drop in performance.
*Coverage is a guide - real range varies with layout, walls, and construction.

Before you order
Orbi 970 is the most powerful system in the Orbi family. It combines quad-band WiFi 7, speeds up to 27 Gbps, a 10 Gig internet port and a dedicated backhaul band that gives router-to-satellite traffic its own fast lane. It is built for the largest homes, multi-gig internet plans and the busiest connected households.
It gives communication between the Orbi router and satellites its own band, so system traffic does not compete with your devices for the same space. That leaves more capacity for streaming, gaming, video calls and other connections, especially when your home is busiest.
Orbi 970 delivers combined WiFi speeds up to 27 Gbps and includes a 10 Gig internet port for multi-gig plans. The speed any one device sees will vary based on your internet plan, device capabilities, placement and network conditions.
The router covers up to 3,300 sq. ft., the 2-pack covers up to 6,600 sq. ft., and the 3-pack covers up to 10,000 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies based on your home’s layout, walls and construction. You can add a compatible Orbi 970 Series satellite later.
Orbi 970 is a strong fit for very large or multi-story homes, multi-gig internet plans or households with many devices competing for bandwidth. Its quad-band design, dedicated backhaul and 10 Gig wired connections provide maximum performance and room to grow. For less demanding homes, another Orbi system may be a better value.
Orbi 970 works with most internet providers when connected to a compatible modem or gateway. It replaces your router, and its 10 Gig internet port supports multi-gig plans. Actual internet speed depends on your service.
Performance and features are identical. The only difference is the finish: black is available exclusively at NETGEAR.com.
No. Advanced Router Protection, WPA3 encryption and automatic updates are included from setup. Optional NETGEAR Armor™, powered by Bitdefender, extends protection across connected devices, privacy and personal data. A free trial is included, and a paid subscription is optional after the trial.
Yes. WiFi 7 is backward compatible, so devices using earlier WiFi generations can still connect. WiFi 7 devices can use the newest capabilities, while speed and performance vary by device.
