Things people ask before they buy.

Orbi 870 is built for larger or multi-story homes. The 2-pack covers up to 6,000 sq. ft., while the 3-pack covers up to 9,000 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies based on your home's layout, walls and construction.
Choose the 2-pack for larger homes, with coverage up to 6,000 sq. ft. Choose the 3-pack for large or multi-story homes, with coverage up to 9,000 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies, and you can add a compatible Orbi 870 Series satellite later.
The app guides you through connecting the router, placing each satellite and creating your network. Most households can complete setup in minutes without networking expertise.
Orbi 870 replaces your router, not the modem or gateway that connects your home to your internet service. It works with most providers when connected to compatible equipment, and the app guides you through setup.
Yes. Tri-band WiFi 7 gives gaming, streaming and video calls room to run together, while 2.5 Gig Ethernet provides a fast wired option for a console or PC. Actual performance depends on your internet plan, device and network conditions.
Orbi 870 uses WiFi 7 Multi-Link Operation (MLO) across its 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands to keep communication between the router and satellites fast, and every satellite has 2.5 Gig Ethernet for optional wired backhaul. A separate band used only for backhaul is exclusive to Orbi 970.
No. Advanced Router Protection, WPA3 encryption and automatic updates are included from setup. Optional NETGEAR Armor™, powered by Bitdefender, extends protection across connected devices, privacy and personal data. A free trial is included, and a paid subscription is optional after the trial.
Yes. WiFi 7 is backward compatible, so devices using earlier WiFi generations can still connect. WiFi 7 devices can use the newest capabilities, while speed and performance vary by device.
